Vibration Decomposition

Novel vibration decomposition techniques are used to separate the cone vibration into single components with special relevance.

A first decomposition separates radial and circumferential vibrations:

A second decomposition is related to the sound pressure output at a certain point:

  • Separate radial and circular modes

  • Analyze actively radiating cone regions quickly

  • Detect loudspeaker defects easily

In-Phase
Component
(generates sound)

Anti-Phase
Component
(reduces sound)

Quadrature
 Component
(generates no sound)

Benefits
Introduction Separate vibration components and detect defects
Measure vibrations and geometry Find critical frequencies easily
Visualize the vibration behavior Examples
